AWARDS AND ACCREDITATIONS
We are very proud of our awards and recognitions at the Star Inn. Here are just a few of the on going awards and certifiactions that we have received more recently.
In 2013, teams from Guinness visited approximately 6,000 pubs iin the UK to assess the quality of the Guinness product and to provide support to licensees. Once the visit had been made, each outlet would be awarded the plaque of accrediation - of which the Star Inn was one of them.

As part of the governments crack down on food standards within the UK, The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme (FHRS) was setup to help the public choose where to eat out or shop for food by giving you information about the hygiene standards in restaurants, pubs, cafes, takeaways, hotels, and other places you eat out. Supermarkets and other food shops are also included in the scheme.
The scheme is run by local authorities in England, Northern Ireland and Wales and in partnership with the Food Standards Agency.
Each business is given a ‘hygiene rating’ when it is inspected by a food safety officer from the business’s local authority. The hygiene rating shows how closely the business is meeting the requirements of food hygiene law.
The Star Inn was once again given the highest rating of 5 in November 2014.

In May 2015 the Star Inn were once again given the certification by the Cask Marque team for the quality of beer that we serve.
The nationally recognised certification is based independant checks by the assessors from Cask Marque.
The assessor checks all cask ales on sale for – temperature, appearance, aroma and taste.
All the beers must reach the required standard for the pub to pass and it then receives a plaque, framed certificate and merchandising material to inform its customers of the award and their rights.
